Mike McElroy began his construction career with McElroy and Company. During his 18 years with the firm, he worked in various management positions, such as foreman, field superintendent and field manager. By the late 1980s, he had become the company president. In 1993, he formed a new company, McElroy Specialty Interiors, or MSI. Two years later, McElroy and Company was closed and he became chief executive officer of MSI.
An Atlanta, Ga., native, Mike learned about the commercial drywall and acoustical subcontracting business working with his father, Edgar P. McElroy, a pioneer in the industry. His education also involved taking night classes in architecture at Southern Polytechnic State University in order to strengthen his knowledge of construction.
Mike, his wife and their two sons enjoy family activities and travel. Mike also includes among his hobbies woodworking, astronomy and real estate investment, as well as gardening and exercising.
Mike has served on the board of the Professional Construction Estimators. He has also been involved with various professional associations and community organizations.
